Privacy Policy

Waterfalls Guide is a static reference site. It does not require accounts, does not run user logins, and does not sell or share personal data. This page explains the limited data that does get collected during ordinary site operation.

What we collect

• Server logs. Cloudflare Pages (our hosting provider) records standard web server logs: IP address, user agent, referrer, URL requested, and response code. Cloudflare's privacy policy governs how this data is handled.
• Anonymous analytics. We may use privacy-respecting analytics (request-level page-view counts with no fingerprinting and no third-party tracking pixels) to understand which guides are useful. We do not use Google Analytics or any data broker.
• Correction emails. If you email us at [email protected], the email address and message contents are stored only for the purpose of responding to or publishing the correction. We don't add you to any list.

What we don't collect

• No user accounts, no passwords, no profiles.
• No cross-site tracking, no third-party advertising pixels, no Facebook Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight, no Google Analytics.
• No newsletter list unless you explicitly subscribe through a form on the site, and there is no such form at present.
• No location tracking. The site does not request browser geolocation.

Cookies

The site does not set first-party tracking cookies. Cloudflare's edge may set technical session cookies for cache and security purposes; those are Cloudflare-managed and described in their privacy policy.

Embedded content

The interactive map at /map/ loads tiles from OpenStreetMap. OpenStreetMap's tile server logs requests; their privacy policy applies. External links on guides (USGS, NPS, Wikipedia, AllTrails, etc.) are governed by those sites' policies.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone in that age bracket.
